About

Matt is a freelance illustrator, concept artist, 3d modeller and texture artist. He lives on Great Barrier Island, a little slice of heaven just off the coast of New Zealand. His work is powered by solar panels so every brush stroke is clean and green.

Matt started out in his working life as a commercial banker running projects in process management. This pathway in the seemingly wrong direction gave him valuable skills in managing a clients project from start to finish and ensuring its completion in a timely manner.

He then went on to work in the games industry as the lead artist, running a team of four talented artists for Mere Mortals NZ. After that he worked for the Navy and Airforce creating 3d training videos to cover a wide range of topics.

Now he freelances for a number of wonderfully varied clients, from indie games companies and virtual supermarkets to childrens e-books and RPGs.

He also works with a talented programmer and as a two man team (with the ability to bring other artists and programmers in) can basically make anything you feel like throwing at him.

Aside from his passion for all things art and all things fantasy he also loves basketball, surfing badly and blowing into a harmonica to see what sounds come out the other end.
